This year’s Walk-A-Thon will be on Friday, March 1! This year, we are embarking on a large-scale, capital improvement project that will include upgrading our facilities, classrooms, and adding additional enhancements to the safety and security of our students. To make this goal a reality, we ask that every family participate in this event which is our biggest fundraiser of the year. We need to count on 100% participation from all our WCA families. Your contributions make a big difference in improving our school for your children – Thank You!
Our 2024 Goal
Our goal this year is to raise $30,000! To reach our goal, each student is asked to raise a minimum of $125.00. Students are asked to solicit donations and pledges to meet their goals.
Tips for raising money
Ask your family and work colleagues for their help. You may have relatives, co-workers, neighbors, and even people you do business with who may want to help support our school. You may know of a business which may help sponsor our Walk-a-thon. Tax-deductible receipts are available upon request. If you donate $125.00 or more your name will go on our Walkathon Yearbook page. If a business or person donates $350.00 or more, they get a business card size space in our WCA yearbook.
Deadlines and Incentives
On the day of the Walk-A-Thon, our K-5 through 12th grade students will walk a designated number of laps around a predesignated track. Teachers will provide incentives along the way to encourage their students to get involved, but we need your help the most to not only encourage your child to participate, but also to be a part of Walk-a-thon as well.
Our first date to turn in any donations collected is Tuesday, February 20. Every student who turns in a minimum of $100.00 on that day will earn a “NO UNIFORM DAY” and a SNOW CONE on Wednesday, February 21. More incentives will be announced over the next two weeks! To qualify for incentives, cash or checks must be turned in (pledges do not count towards weekly goals). Your last day to turn in all money, including pledges, will be Monday, March 4.
Our “Top Prize” is a trip to SeaWorld for all students who raise a minimum of $300.00. The SeaWorld trip is scheduled for Friday, April 5. Thank you very much for your support and for helping our school be the best that it can be!
